Nasir Sobri’s Summary

I am an early adopter and an avid computer user since the '80s turned pro-netrepreneur beginning 1992 (during the early birth years of the WWW, i.e. Nescape at 0.9b / MSIE was still NCSA Mosaic). In 1998, I started a business hosting websites on the Net. Today, my company offers a wide array of ICT products & services for global users. [Ask me about DSL, SSL, DNS, VPS, DS, T1, Metro-E, LD, Cellular, PBX, VoIP, CC, Toll-Free etc!]

Stuff that interests me includes people, history, philosophy, computers, networking, software, engineering, entrepreneurship, languages, movies, traveling, reading and writing. Besides writing apps in C, Java, PHP, SQL etc, I also write editorials on a wide range of topics on various platforms. In addition to Malay (mother's tougue), English and those programming languages, I'm a fan of other cultures and human languages -- I can understand and speak some Indonesian, Chinese (Mandarin & Hokkien) & Arabic (through college courses) plus I am looking forward to learn a few other languages.

I aspire to reduce digital divides, promote healthy e-commerce among the masses and breed more passionate technopreneurs. Thus, I join local and national chambers of commerce and actively participate in global tech groups (& meets) including serving as Honorary Secretary for Penang Association of ICT Entrepreneurs (2007-2009) plus Country Manager for Pajamanation, a glocal Me-Inc project with presence in 50+ countries -- Yes, I work at home in 'pajamas' but my PCs and Internet connectivity are faster than in some "cyber-status" offices ;)

At present, I am on 'sabatical' (if there's such a thing in business world! Or a vacation, perhaps...) to collaborate with folks at several universities including UUM Kedah (MARA FTM Incubator) and USM Penang (Eureka) plus government agencies including InvestPenang and MDeC for the NEXT BIG THING. Don't ask... Still working hard on it!
